By far the best auto care place I have been! Steve and his employees are super friendly and reliable. I am from out of town and needing to get home. They told me what was wrong right away and needing to keep me safe and get me home was their goal. He was able to squeeze me working on my car in the heat out in parking lot rather than a bay. Steve’s auto care has always treated me soooooo good. I have an older can and have had several things need repaired on it and they have always been honest and good to me.

As a female that knows nothing about cars it really scares me that I’ll be taken advantage of when, taking my car in to be worked on. I have never felt taken advantage at Steve’s auto care.

One time I had a belt put on and it started to rip a while later, so I brought my car back to Steve’s and they fixed it. Put a new belt on it and didn’t charge me to do so.

Just recently I had problems with my car not starting so I brought it back to Steve’s and they had to call a locksmith. To have a new key made (and a few other things but my girl brain doesn’t remember what they’re called). They just charge me what the locksmith charge them and no diagnostic fee.

They have a quick turn around time also of course it depends on when they can get the parts and what the issue is but I’ve always had my car back with in a few days as well.

I am so grateful to Steve’s auto care. They will have a forever Customer with me. ??

Great service. My truck wouldn't start. Had a mobile mechanic come look at it and $150 later he had some suggestions but couldn't fix it. Had it towed to Steve's and they identified the problem and had it fixed in a few days.

Took vehicle in because front end was shaking between 50 and 60 MPH. Was pleasantly surprised when I was told that my rear tires needed to be replaced. Fast friendly service and they're not as scared to speak up

I recently moved to Star Idaho and my 2005 Mustang stopped running after a car wash. Not knowing where to take it I stopped by Steve’s Auto Care. After speaking with Steve I had my car towed there. He had it for about 45 minutes and then he called me. Apparently the fuel cutoff switch was tripped. Steve explained what could have caused it. I asked him what I owed him and he said nothing. Steve’s Auto Care earned a customer as long as they are opened. Steve, thank you for being a man of integrity.

Steve is a wonderful man who is there to serve. He was able to let me borrow his family members vehicle while mine was in the shop. So grateful for him. I'm hopeful that his team is able to keep up with his honest and pleasing standard he has set for this business.

I very much appreciate Steve's Auto Care for getting my vehicle in and fixed quickly. Steve was very helpful and went out of his way to get the part needed over the weekend so when my car arrived Monday morning by tow truck, it was fixed and ready to pick up by Noon same day. Drives great now. I would recommend them and will be returning if I ever have the need.

Steve's Auto Care did a fabulous job for my parents .. they were kind and patient with my aging parents who missed their first appointment due to a hospital admission. They took care of the water pump in their RV. Thank you for being a great shop and helping them get their rig moving again.

Just had to add another review-I will never go to another shop for anything but an oil change. Even though I've moved and live about 20 miles away now, Steve's got my business! A lube shop just told me I needed a $300+ fix, Steve looked at the "problem" and said it isn't a problem and wouldn't even take anything for his expert opinion and time. Honest, dependable, experienced and reliable. Steve goes above and beyond because he actually cares.

I called AAA road service today to help with a dead battery. Just had back surgery so couldn't run down to my local automotive service. AAA sent a young man from Steve's who arrived right on time & had a great attitude from the git-go. He did his system diagnostic in short order & determined that I don't really need a new battery just a 'trickle charge' overnight. He then described the few things that could have drained my 3 yr old battery prematurely. After not starting it for 2 weeks it was really my bad but he told us of another position contributing factor: I keep my 2015 Honda CRV fob in a bowl just inside the garage door. So for those two weeks, my security system kept locating the fob using battery all the while. So I ordered a 'trickle charger' on Amazon and moved my fob to a bowl in our bedroom - case solved. I wish I could remember his name but this is the guy who forgot to fire his car up for two long weeks. I'm sure that he or his boss might recognize who he is but, at the least, Steve gets some well-deserved kudos.

I was traveling through Idaho and noticed my truck was leaking a lot of oil. I took it to Steve’s shop and he quickly diagnosed and repaired my truck for a very reasonable price.

I am not a fan of sites that allow people to anonymously criticize a business without having the guts to say something to the business owners face, which is why I feel it important to speak out when I am very pleased with the work done by Steve and his crew at Steve's Auto Repair in Star.

When you bring in a used vehicle for repair, you sometimes open a can of worms, as had happened to me in this case. Steve and his team worked very hard, kept me informed throughout the entire process, completed the repairs in a timely manner, and even worked with an extended warranty company on my behalf. Without going into great detail I will just say, I have found a local garage I can trust to bring my vehicles to, get an honest opinion, and good work done at a fair price. After all, isn't that all we are really looking for in an auto repair shop? I have found mine!

It would be nice if all auto repair businesses operated the way Steve does. Honest work for a reasonable price. I have no reservations about recommending this company.

Steve’s Auto is about the only place I trust with my vehicle. My husband’s employer also started sending the work vehicles in because of the honest treatment, reasonable prices and quick service.
We had a streak of bad luck with our vehicle since January this year, starting with a busted driver’s side window in the middle of a snow storm. Then the entire break system needed replaced (which I knew was going to happen). This summer the car broke down twice and thank heaven it did in Star, close enough that Steve and his crew were able to tow it back to shop, saving me time and money. Not sure if that is something they always do or they just felt sorry for me. Either way I’m grateful. We ended up having to replace the alternator and battery the first time and then replace the transmission the second time. Both times he called to explain options and prices before starting work. I have never felt talked down to or felt that anyone was trying to pull money out of my pocket. I have always left my vehicle confident that only appropriate and necessary repairs would be done. I can’t say the same for other shops I’ve been to in the past. Our van is back on the road and running good. Just had check engine light come on this week and I took it in to Steve this morning to make sure it was safe to drive next week on our Thanksgiving road trip. Turns out all we needed was a bit of fuel system cleaner. Sent me on my way with a bottle and we were out of there in 10 minutes.

Taking your car into the shop can be like walking into a dentist painful and expensive! This recently happened to me when I took my car into Steves Auto Care in Star. I thought I had an exhaust problem that might run $500 tops. It turned out to be a transmission problem (and a few other things) that ended up being around $3,900.00 thats the OUCH and the Expensive part. I picked up my car after about 3 weeks or so in the shop excited to have wheels again. My wife and I were very disappointed to find out the car acted worse than when we took it in. We returned the car to Steve expecting to get a run-around. But no, instead, we received the utmost in professionalism and courtesy. Steve not only fixed the car better than before, but he also fixed a problem that was going to cost us down the road and he did so for free! Steve, is a very honest and conscientious businessman. I strongly suggest you go there for all your auto care needs. Thank-you Steve!

We've known Steve and his birds for years. Steve is a friendly guy and a top notch mechanic. I recently took one of my cars to him for repair and was quite pleased with the quality of work as well as the turn-around time. Here in Star, Steve is just simply "the mechanic" in town. I am very pleased with Steve's Auto care. My second car was in storage for several months. When I went to start it it was as dead as could be. Steve came out made some minor adjustment and got the car started. He didn't even charge me. How great is that. It needs some preventative maintenance, so I'll be bring it in to his shop.
